My Diet PillWhat’s my secret?? It’s a new diet pill called “GET UP & MOVE YOUR ASS.” I’m loving the results from it so far!!

People frequently ask me, “What supplements do you take?” Allow me to break it down for you. I take B12 and drink Shakeology, that’s it. When it comes to any type of diet pill, I take zilch, zero, nada, none! With all do respect to those who do, I personally do not allow random pills to define me. I’d rather work my ass off and earn my results the right way than to “cheat” or fake it with some magic diet pill.

This is something I’ve NEVER shared publicly so here goes. At one point in my life (13+ years ago) I embarrassingly admit that I was addicted to diet pills. Hello Ephedra! I couldn’t function without them. continue reading

LOVE THESE SHORTSWhen I find something I like, I buy them in multiple colors. Where do you shop for your fitness apparel? Believe it or not, shopping has always been an extremely frustrating experience for me. Why? Because I’m 5 feet tall with a body that naturally craves to be curvy (genetically it’s inevitable). Seriously, have you ever shopped at VS? Why are those “PINK” sweat pants 1000 feet long??? LOL. Honestly, it’s a rare, monumental occasion when I can buy directly off the shelf and wear it immediately. That’s why I am SO HAPPY I found Glyder Apparel! No joke you guys, immediately after trying these on, I sent an email telling them “It’s like they were custom made just for me”! I love these shorts! If you’d like to see me in action and wearing these shorts, head over to my YouTube Channel. YOU’VE GOT TO TRY THESE!!! —> www.work-sweat-play.com | promo code FITWASTED | receive 30% off | valid through March 3, 2014

Seconds ProThis is one of my favorite apps to use for any HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training), Tabata, Circuit Training, and more. It’s called the Seconds Pro App and can be easily downloaded from the Apps Store right to your iPhone, iPad and more. Aside from a Gymboss, this provides a whole new experience to your workout. Just plug in your exercises, timings, intervals, music and viola. For me personally, using timers like these keep me 100% committed to performing at the highest intensity. Additionally, unlike counting reps, timing my intervals makes me competitive and accountable to perform even harder. It forces me to keep pushing until “3.2.1…[rest]”.

Food Is MedicineFirst and foremost, I’d like to acknowledge that I do believe in specifically designed medications that treat health risks and medical conditions. You should absolutely talk to your physician or dietitian regarding which supplements and doses are appropriate for you. But, do your research before you start popping pills. Not all supplements are good for you and in some cases may be doing more harm to your body. Tip, the FDA, Food and Drug Administration, keeps a list of dietary supplements that are under regulatory review or that have been reported to cause adverse effects. If you’re taking a supplement, it’s always good idea to check the FDA website for updates. You should always be aware of what you put into your body.

Fitness JournalA powerful quote that deserves to be repeated a million times more, “Failure to plan is planning to fail” -Benjamin Franklin.

In all that we do in life, we plan: college, career, home, finances, vacations, doctors appointments, beauty appointments, cooking dinner, grocery shopping, date nights…shall I continue? We’re naturally programmed to live in a forward-thinking state of mind. Let’s face it, if we don’t know where we’re going, how will we know when we have arrived?

So where does planning to live a healthy lifestyle fit in? A recent article stated that 95% of people who lose weight regain it – and sometimes more – within a few months or years. continue reading

FormulaSexy abs, toned booties, sculpted arms, more energy…these are all things we work so hard for, right? And we’re often tempted to try ANYTHING additional to give ourselves a little boosty boost, right? I mean think about it, solicitations, temptations, fad “diets”, magic pills, detoxes…”where do I turn, ahhhhh”. Have you ever felt like this?

Sure, the easiest thing to do is give in, spend a little extra money and jump on the fad-bandwagon. Once we’re on the fad-bandwagon, we’re not just along for the joyous ride, we’re now driving that glorious p.o.s.! Racing with excitement, giddy with a million percent more energy as if we’ve just become a born again energizer bunny on wheels. But then what happens? The wheels fall off and that p.o.s. snaps in f-ing half, causing you to a screeching halt! Great, now what? continue reading

scales-dont-give-whole-storyThis is a topic that has been weighing on my mind heavily lately (pun intended).

How do you define fitness or weight loss “progress”? Is it the number on the scale each morning? Many of us would say “YES”, right?! After all, we’re wired to attach a number to something we’re working so hard on and call it “progress”.

Throughout the highs and lows of our lifelong fitness journey, we tend to become slaves to the dreaded scale. Waking up every morning, putting ourselves through teeth clenching agony, “Please God let it be 20 pounds less than yesterday’s weigh in.” Okay I’m being a bit dramatic, but ugh, why do we do this to ourselves? continue reading
